Square Dancers like to have fun!!!

   At the Rock-n-Cedars Square Dance Club we do all we can to make sure that happens.
 
At every dance we serve cookies or cake (sometimes even home-made), water and coffee.
 
We observe holidays with special decorations and urge dancers to wear appropriate garb (halloween costumes or valentine colors). 
Our caller, John Carlton, and his compadre in calling, John Kephart, are sponsoring a special weekend for Plus dancers on September 2 and 3 at the Paws & Taws Community Center in Fulton TX.  For more details see their website and join us in the fun!
 
If there is some event happening in town, we join in the fun with special dance demonstrations.
 
In Christmas, 2007, we won first place for originality in the Hondo Christmas Card contest.  Perhaps you saw our card along Hwy 90 right across from HEB.
 
In February 2009, several of us danced at the Rodeo!
 
FunDangle Days -- square dancers can earn fun dangles, also called fun badges, for dancing in a particular place or a particular way.  These are hung from your hard badge, from a special dangle clip, or just pinned to your vest or shirt.
 
For example, on February 17, 2008, we wrapped our caller in toilet paper while the dancers continued to dance and the caller continued to call.  This earned us a mummy badge.
 
During Christmas in God's Country, 2009, several of us earned Hondo, 2009, badges by participating in the dance demonstrations.
 
If you're an experienced dancer, you can earn a Rock-n-Cedars angel badge for helping our students to learn.
 
The first Sunday of every month is CELEBRATION SUNDAY. 
 
We congratulate all who have birthdays or anniversaries during the month and sometimes earn a fundangle!
